Benny M. Koontz

Benny M. Koontz

President / CEO

In April of 1978, Benny joined his father, Keith Koontz, who founded the company in 1958. Benny holds a BSEE degree from the University of Arkansas/Fayetteville graduating in May of 1972. He was formerly E & I Foreman and E and I Maintenance Engineer for Green Bay Packaging’s Arkansas Kraft Division, a fully integrated 1100 tpd paper mill in Morrilton, Arkansas. Benny holds a Masters license for the State of Arkansas with over 44 years of heavy industrial power and controls experience. In 1994 Benny acquired sole stock ownership from his father and has served as President and CEO ever since. On January 16, 2001, Benny was inducted to the Arkansas Construction Hall of Fame’s second class. In April of 2006, Benny was inducted into the Arkansas Academy of Electrical Engineers.
 
Dean Hoover

Dean Hoover

Executive Vice President / COO

Dean joined the KECI staff in November of 1990.  He is responsible for all construction operations activities including project design, construction management, and engineering.  Dean has over 25 years of experience in the electrical industry in design and construction management with broad design experience in power generation and distribution, controls and instrumentation, automated control (PLC's, PC's, DAS), and airport lighting.  He was formerly a design engineer for Garver and Garver, PA of Little Rock, Arkansas for five years.
 
Mark Day

Mark Day

Executive Vice President / CFO

Mark joined the company in 1999. He is responsible for all financial and administrative activities of the company, including accounting, personnel administration, IT, and other administrative functions.  He earned a BSBA degree in 1973 in finance and real estate from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Previous to his employment at Koontz Electric he was Finance Team Leader for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission in Little Rock.  He has served as president of the Arkansas chapter of Construction Financial Management Association.
 
Richard Dold

Richard Dold

Vice President / Director of Field Operations

Richard joined Koontz Electric Co. in 1978 as an apprentice electrician after graduating from Sacred Heart High School in Morrilton. With over 35 years of experience, he holds a Master Electrician License in multiple states and is QA/QC certified with the US Army COE. Over the years he has served as General Superintendent for various electrical projects such as Commercial Office Buildings, Data Centers, Paper Mills, Solar Power Systems, Power Plants and Substations up to 500KV. He now serves as General Superintendent and Director of Field Operations.
 
Jeff Ludwig

Jeff Ludwig

Vice President / Sr. Project Manager

Jeff joined the company in August of 1988, while furthering his education at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, where he earned his BSEE. His experience with KECI includes: high voltage substation installations; SCADA/Data Acquisition Systems; Lock and Dam Power and Control systems; Switchyard Rehabilitation; Hydroelectric powerhouses; and other electrical installations. Previous to this employment, he served in the U.S. Army, 63rd Signal Battalion and in the White House Communications Agency, Washington, DC, as senior lead power technician responsible for providing quality service for the executive branch of the government throughout the world for audio visual and communication needs.
