Benny M. Koontz

Benny M. Koontz

President / CEO

Benny started in the company on a part time basis in 1972 with his father, Keith, and joined the company in April of 1978 as a full time company electrical engineer and executive.   He holds a BSEE degree from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, 1972.  He was formerly E&I Foreman and E&I Maintenance Engineer for Arkansas Kraft Corporation of Morrilton, Arkansas, a fully integrated 1100 TPD Paper Mill.  Benny also holds a Masters License with 37 years heavy industrial experience and emphasis in controls and instrumentation.  Benny served as Vice President and Operations Manager before acquiring sole stock ownership in 1994.  On January 16, 2001, the Arkansas Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America selected Benny for inclusion into the Arkansas Construction Hall of Fame.  Also, in April of 2006, Benny was inducted into the Arkansas Academy of Electrical Engineers.

Dean joined the KECI staff in November of 1990.  He is responsible for all construction operations activities including project design, construction management, and engineering.  Dean has over 25 years of experience in the electrical industry in design and construction management with broad design experience in power generation and distribution, controls and instrumentation, automated control (PLC's, PC's, DAS), and airport lighting.  He was formerly a design engineer for Garver and Garver, PA of Little Rock, Arkansas for five years.

Vice President / CFO

Mark joined the company in 1999. He is responsible for all financial and administrative activities of the company, including accounting, personnel administration, IT, and other administrative functions.  He earned a BSBA degree in 1973 in finance and real estate from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Previous to his employment at Koontz Electric he was Finance Team Leader for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission in Little Rock.  He has served as president of the Arkansas chapter of Construction Financial Management Association.
