Gary Massey

SAFETY DIRECTOR

Gary joined the Koontz team in January 1999 as project safety coordinator at CIBA Chemical Company in West Memphis, Arkansas. Following this assignment, he became corporate safety director for Koontz Electric and maintains this position to this day. As safety director, Gary implements on site safety inspections, training, safety awards and incentives. He also deals directly with OSHA, MSHA, Bureau of Reclamations, Corp of Engineers, EPA and State Departments of Labor in complying with state and federal requirements.

 

Jeff Ludwig

PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR

Jeff joined the company in August of 1988, while furthering his education at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, where he earned his BSEE. His experience with KECI includes: high voltage substation installations; SCADA/Data Acquisition Systems; Lock and Dam Power and Control systems; Switchyard Rehabilitation; Hydroelectric powerhouses; and other electrical installations. Previous to this employment, he served in the U.S. Army, 63rd Signal Battalion and in the White House Communications Agency, Washington, DC, as senior lead power technician responsible for providing quality service for the executive branch of the government throughout the world for audio visual and communication needs. Jeff is a certified teacher in the apprenticeship training program through Associated Builders and Contractors.

 

Keith Foster

PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR

Keith joined the company in April of 1998, coming to us from Lawrence Electric in El Dorado, AR, where he worked as an estimator/project manager for ten years.  Keith has worked as an estimator/project manager for over 15 years and has a heavy background in pulp & paper, chemical plants, and all aspects of the data communications field.

 

Bryce Koontz

PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR

Bryce became a member of the permanent work force at Koontz Electric in 1987, having graduated from Arkansas Tech University in May 1995. Summers, extended holidays, etc., saw Bryce on the payroll learning the basics of the electrical trade. Since April, 1997, having had several years of in-the-field experience, Bryce was promoted to Estimator/Project Manager and is currently in charge of construction scheduling. He holds a journeyman license for the State of Arkansas, is QA/QC certified with the US Army Corps of Engineers, and assists in the various duties/responsibilities of day-to-day project management. He has over 20 years in computer applications, and has completed Project Management / Building Construction Management courses at Purdue University; and also holds completion certificates for Primavera Scheduling software and CONEST electrical estimating software.

 

Paul Zimmerman

PROJECT ENGINEER

Paul became a member of the permanent work force at Koontz Electric in May, 2004, having graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a BSEE. Working through college saw Paul on the payroll learning the basics of the electrical trade and the process of project management.  He also completed a summer internship at Garver Engineers where he learned about design and became familiar with CAD applications.  His management duties with KECI include projects with water/wastewater plants, manufacturing plants, generator governor controls, PLC gate controls, and substations.  Paul has completed additional job training in QA/QC Manager for COE, OSHA 30, CPR Training, and various additional operation of equipment and tool trainings.

 

James Zimmerman

PROJECT MANAGER / ESTIMATOR

Jamie became a member of the permanent work force at Koontz Electric in May, 2004, having graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a BSEE.  Since joining Koontz Electric he has worked as a project manager/estimator with an emphasis on government projects.  The majority of his project experience is in hydroelectric plants, including GSU Transformer, Excitation, Governor, and Balance of Plant projects.  He also holds a master license for the State of Arkansas, OSHA 30 hour training and a construction quality management for contractors certification from the USACE.

 

Heath Thompson

PROJECT MANAGER

Heath joined the company in December of 2008, having graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a BS in Construction Management. Before coming to Koontz Electric, Heath worked in the field as an assistant superintendent for a general contractor while attending college.  He also holds OSHA 30 hour training and a construction quality management for contractors certification from the USACE.

 

Don Barnett

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Don became a member of Koontz Electric in July 2006. He was previously employed 30 years with Pacific Gas & Electric. He developed his technical and service skills working in the Materials, Electric T & D, Electric Service, and Gas Service Departments. Don achieved Journey Gas Serviceman in his last 9 year tenure, and was part of their Emergency Response Team. He was employed at H.M.S. Development, as their Maintenance Director for 4 years, and then relocated to Arkansas. Don is responsible for the business development, executing business to business proactive outreach, to targeted industries, projects, and companies. Don has served on the Advisory Council for the Petroleum Industry at UACCM Morrilton, Arkansas.

 

Jeremy Stell

GENERAL MANAGER / TECHNICAL SERVICES DIVISION

Jeremy joined Koontz Electric in January of 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Arkansas, as well as an Associate’s Degree in Electric Power Technology from Bismarck State University. Prior to becoming General Manager of the Technical Services Division, Jeremy’s responsibilities included network administration, corporate licensure, and assisting the project management team. In 2005, Jeremy moved into the General Manager position of the newly developed Technical Services division of Koontz Electric. His primary responsibilities include the oversight of marketing, sales, B&E, accounting, and safety for the Technical Services Division. Jeremy has completed both MSHA training and Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification from the USACE.

 

Luke Barnett

CERTIFIED TEGG REPRESENTATIVE

Luke Barnett joined the Koontz Electric team in September of 2007 and is currently responsible for sales and business development opportunities for the TEGG Service Operation of Koontz Electric. Luke's background is in facilities management within the high technologies field. At Koontz Electric, Luke is responsible for designing predictive and proactive electrical maintenance and testing services for a wide variety of customers in the industrial and commercial fields.

 

Chad Holsted

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

Chad re-joined the company in 2007. He earned his AAS in Electrical Power Technology from Bismarck State College, in North Dakota. As assistant Project Manager, he is responsible for the submittal and O&M processes, as well as helping the Project Managers as needed. He previously worked in the field gaining experience in the Apprenticeship program. Previous to this employment, Chad worked for an International manufacturing facility where his roles ranged from Quality Engineer to Continuous Improvement Manager. He has had extensive training in Quality Management Systems and is a certified Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He also holds a Construction Quality Management for Contractor certification from the USACE.

 

Kimberly Moore

PROJECT MANAGER ASSISTANT

Kimberly Moore joined the Project Management team in August 2003. Kim is responsible in assisting the PMs in document control, procurement, field document control to name just a few. She has extensive knowledge in Microsoft Access and has created an extensive Project Management database to assist in document control.

 

Sheila Andrews
